Most home inspectors know the I.R.C. code and the Texas Standards of Practice, as I do, and passed the state test to get their licenses, It' the law in Texas that home Inspectors have one. I  know how a home is built,  I have carried the wood to frame walls, installed cabinets, doors, windows, and all it takes to construct a home. I have repaired almost every aspect of a home, not only repaired but isolated the problem and seen first hand what issues confront homes in Central Texas. Please read below.
My skills and experience are available for your home inspection.

My background starts in construction with my enlistment in to the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer,(12 B 10 Combat Construction SPC).

Which helped me later in life with leadership roles and laid a solid foundation of construction practices. I was in the Army for 3 years. During my years in the Army I took two years of Drafting at U.M.R .Which helps me understand, read and interpit site and blueprint drawings.

After leaving the Armed Forces I worked and lived in Austin TX. First with the Labor Union and then with Carpenters Union Local 1266 for 4 years, as a Journeyman Carpenter. Several of the high rises you see on the Austin skyline I worked on forming concrete and performing carpenter type jobs.

In 1985 through 1990 I worked in the Austin area building homes as a crew leader and Lead Carpenter on many homes in the West Lake and South Austin area, From framing off the slab to the final trimming out of the home with finish Carpentry. Setting doors, window, kitchen cabinet and bath vanities, Ext. trim and siding.

In 1990 through 1995 I worked as a Sub Contractor in the Lake Way TX. Area providing home repairs of all types. Contracting painting, Carpentry repairs, Drywall replacement and repairs to minor plumbing and most things related to keeping a home maintained. This was a very strong learning process for me that I was able to build on and use as experience in the following years.

After learning how things are built and then taken care of I was employed as a Restoration Project Mgr. for a insurance repair company. The company I worked for did things on a large scale having as many as 70 working jobs between 5 or 6 Project Mgrs.

Managing 7 to 9 restoration projects at once in different phases of repair proved changeling and rewarding.

The work load required me to multitask and because the company I worked for was hired by insurance companies such as State Farm, Farmers and USAA The work needed to be of high quality.

I found my forte in insurance repair in the way of kitchen and bath repairs after a kitchen fire or a defective shower pan. I completed over 70 full kitchen remodels and over 400 complete shower replacements. Which involved tile, plumbing ,electrical, carpentry, drywall and drywall finishing and painting. I had many jobs related to a fire that were almost complete rebuilds,

With the skills and experience I speak of above, having hands on experience with repairs, managing different trade repair crews, and above all having a satisfied home owner at the end of the project, and believe me, those of you that have had a insurance repair done by one of the companies above know that someone will be along with a form from the insurance company that says you are completely satisfied so they can get paid. I know what repair work looks like, both good and bad. Or if it is just wrong from the start.  And will use this experience for you.
